Not Me Syndrome

Graveyard

This world is full of people who are in denial of their extremely poor lifestyle habits. Most people live their daily life without even thinking about the consequences of their poor lifestyle decisions.

Most people know of someone who is seriously ill or has died at a relatively young age. These unfortunate people were living the usual western lifestyle. Some were participating in poor health habits like smoking tobacco, drinking alcohol, or even the consumption of drugs for recreational purposes, but most were not doing anything blatantly bad except for their generally poor lifestyle.

Even driving around the city I see so many people with a memorial on their truck or car describing the birth and death of a loved one. Whenever I notice one of these I always look at it to see how long the person lived. Nearly all of them passed away before they reached the age of 50 years.

The cause of death is never written on the memorial but assuming they died from one of the two most common causes of death is probably a reasonable assumption at least in most cases.

The two most common causes of death for most western societies are cardiovascular disease and cancer. Of course many of these people might have died in automobile accidents or other traumas but probably many died from the most common causes of death.

I assume that these people were living the typical western lifestyle since nearly all people in western countries choose to live the same standard lifestyle. Both of these causes of death are completely preventable by living within the laws of nature.

The odd thing is that these people who obviously were grieved by the passing of their loved ones still live the exact same lifestyle as their deceased relatives or friends. I don’t understand what they are thinking when they expect different results by doing the exact same thing.

It is said that the definition of insanity is the repetition of the exact same behavior but expecting a different result. I am not sure if these people are suicidal or if they are insane.

If they are not suicidal and they do want to live a long healthy life then they must be insane. They are repeating the exact same behavior of their dear deceased loved ones and expect a different result. I can not see any other way to explain it.

Possibly they are just not educated in the laws of nature or have no idea that lifestyle and disease or death are related. Maybe these people are fooled or tricked somehow into thinking that what happened to their loved ones was some sort of random evil spell that just happens out of nowhere.

Certainly this evil spell having struck their loved one can never strike them as that is not allowed according to probabilities. It’s nearly impossible for lightning to strike twice, isn’t it?

Fortunately for the readers of this blog, things are much clearer for you. You understand the laws of nature and therefore you know that there is no evil spirit going around causing disease and death. You know that sickness and death is due to ignorance and apathy and not at all random or evil.

People who live according to the laws of nature will avoid most of these avoidable illnesses and death. They do not expect a different result by repeating the same behavior that their unfortunate dead loved one was doing before they became ill. These people are repeating the causes of health and wellness and expecting the same results as the rest of the natural hygiene community who are thriving and prospering all across the world.

Rebuttal to Skeptoid Post on Natural Hygiene

Filed under: Diet, Exercise, Nutrition, Healing, Fasting, Rest, Sleep, Sunshine, Relationships, Mental state — hygienehealth @ 9:23 pm

There is a guy named Brian Dunning who posts on a web site called skeptoid.com. He includes podcasts of every post. The one I am addressing here is number 28 posted on February 19, 2007 which pertains to Natural Hygiene. If you have not read or heard this then go to the article and read it or listen to the podcast here: http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4028 then return to read my rebuttal.

For anyone who is already familiar with natural hygiene, this blog entry is a complete moot point as Brian is so off of the mark with this article that it is not even worth a rebuttal. For those who are less familiar with natural hygiene and who might be open to the article or even possibly believe it, this is for you.

First of all, Brian doesn’t understand natural hygiene at all. He stresses that natural hygiene’s basis is that medicine and vaccinations are harmful to the body and should be avoided. Never in the article does he ever mention that natural hygiene is a totally different lifestyle from the popular or standard lifestyle that the vast majority of people choose to live. Nothing is further from the truth.

Natural hygiene is a lifestyle that includes the avoidance of medical procedures, medications, herbs, supplements, and vaccinations. Avoiding these without living within the natural laws of nature is not at all natural hygiene and no hygienist would ever live the standard life and simply avoid medications unless they are in transition to a complete natural hygienic life.

Consuming toxins on a daily basis, not getting enough sleep, exercise, positive stimulation, sunshine and all the other necessary inputs that a natural hygienist requires and then refusing medical treatment doesn’t make any sense for one and second, doing so can actually be more harmful than helpful unless the person is ready to transition fully into a hygienic lifestyle.

I am not saying that the medicines and medical procedures that people use are helpful, no, not at all, but I am saying that if a person is already so toxic that their body doesn’t know how to react to more toxins, then taking these medicines might make the person feel like they are recovering from whatever they were suffering from. It is only after these people detox and completely transition to a natural hygiene lifestyle that they should avoid toxins, many of which are called medicine, herbs, supplements, and vaccinations.

Also Brian fails to mention that everytime that someone ‘miraculously’ gets healed from a dis-ease that it was their body that healed them (in all cases, 100% of the time) and not the medicine or other modality. He seems to think that some medicines or other sources can actually do something helpful to the body that the body could not do itself. He fails to mention that adding the medicine will usually if not always actually get in the way of the body’s natural healing systems.

His example of getting a cut and applying some disinfectant can heal the cut faster and with less risk of infection has no references and there isn’t even a piece of evidence that this is a fact. He also never discusses the fact that someone who practices natural hygiene rarely if ever gets a serious illness in the first place. He also doesn’t mention that most hygienists will go through a period of fasting if and when there is a need to in order to heal any substantial illness or dis-ease.

Brian mentions that child mortality is to blame for a substantial increase in life expectancy over the years. He implies that this is due to child inoculations to prevent childhood dis-eases. Natural hygienists’ children rarely suffer from these childhood dis-eases as their body is non toxic and they do not harbor the environment internally that is attractive to the germs and mirobes that cause these dis-eases.

It is also mentioned that ‘modern day non-civilized native tribes’ lack access to modern medicine and thus are the only large groups ‘practicing natural hygiene’. This is a complete inaccuracy as most of these tribes do not practice natural hygiene at all, they only do not have access to modern medicines, which as I mentioned is not practicing natural hygiene by any means.

I also have no idea where he pulled that number of having a life expectancy of 34 years from. There are no references of how he arrived at that number, and even if it was correct, these tribes are not practicing natural hygiene so it really is nothing to do with natural hygiene at all.

Brian mentions that modern natural hygiene practitioners choose to become natural hygienists after they reached adulthood and therefore are past the vulnerable childhood years when they can contract dangerous and deadly childhood dis-eases. There is some truth to the first part as most children in the world are being raised by parents who have no idea about the laws of nature and natural hygiene.

It is not the children’s choice to be raised in such a toxic lifestyle at all. Still there are many parents who do live within the laws of nature and do practice natural hygiene and do raise their children with natural hygiene and most of these children are thriving beyond human belief. Many of them never even see one sick day in their life and never have the childhood inoculations or dis-eases, ever.

In summary, there is nothing in Brian’s article that even remotely refers to the actual natural hygiene lifestyle. He seemed to have made up a new definition of natural hygiene for his own purposes and then goes on to prove that it (the incorrect definition of natural hygiene) is not helpful. Even his arguments for this are full of holes and nothing is referenced.

Anyone who actually knows what natural hygiene is and understands it will surely get a good laugh from this inaccurate folly of made up blunders. Thanks for the laugh, Brian, it will help my readers get one of the important factors necessary for living a natural hygiene lifestyle, laughter!

If a Tree Falls in a Forest Does Anyone Hear?

Filed under: Diet, Nutrition, Healing, Fasting — hygienehealth @ 11:19 pm

This is an old riddle, it’s supposed to confuse us and make us think about the question if a tree falls in a forest without anyone present does it still make a sound.  There are many ways to answer this depending on your viewpoint and philosophy, but logically if a tree falling makes a sound when there are people present to hear there will be a sound when they are not around. This can be proven with electrical equipment like sound recorders or satellite receivers.

What does this have to do with health and natural hygiene? I thought you might ask so here is the answer. Most people do not follow the laws of nature, in fact they have not followed the laws of nature even for one day in their entire life. These people will give the familiar deer in the headlights look on their faces when you speak to them about health and the damage they are performing to themselves.

Don’t try this on too many people but if you know someone who you will not be too worried that they think you are some whacko then catch them consuming some toxic food like coffee. Most coffee drinkers go through the stuff like NH people go through bananas. They drink cup after cup and then they feel nothing. Even with 8 spoons of sugar and a few ounces of cream, they still will feel no different after the coffee than before. As you NH people know, even a couple of drops of low caffeine coffee can cause your body to almost go into a fit. This is how my body reacts. In fact I was at a grocery store a few weeks ago and they were handing out these tiny cups of coffee samples.

I never drink anything like that but I was curious as to what happens when I drink a drop or two of the stuff. I took one black cup with maybe one ounce of coffee in it and I dumped out about 90% of the stuff leaving a couple of drops. I downed this and waited to see what happens. Within a minute or two I felt my head start to hurt, I felt shivers in my body, I was literally shaking from just 2 or 3 drops of coffee. I do not think I am a one in a million or one in a billion unlucky peson who just happens to get strong reactions to coffee, no in fact as little as 3 years ago I used to drink coffee, not every day but at least 2 times a week.

Did I react to the coffee then? No, I don’t remember ever feeling sick or reacting like this from coffee until recently. I really am not that lucky to be that one in a million person to react to coffee. I would confidently say that I react to coffee and most other toxins the same as most people would who were in my condition and who practiced NH.

What is really happening here is that I have regained my senses that warn me of consuming toxins, the same senses that I lost a few years ago are now working once again. Does that mean that these toxins were not causing damage years ago when I didn’t feel anything after consuming them? Sure they were, they were causing the same identical damage that they are now except that I was not being made aware of it. It’s just like the tree falling, it falls and makes a sound nomatter if there is someone to hear or not. It still is lying on the ground even if there was nobody around to hear or see it fall.

The world is full of people who consume so much toxic food and beverage that they no longer get a signal that they are doing severe damage. Oftentimes once it is too late they will find out what they have done to themselves, once this damage is so serious that there is no way to ignore it. Sometimes the result is cancer or some other chronic or acute disease which is so advanced that the body can’t recover from it. It’s no wonder so many people never even felt it coming.

Most people who strictly follow NH are very in touch with their bodies, if there is a problem brewing their body will give them an early warning, a signal that there is something wrong and usually it is at such an early stage that it can be reversed quite easily by making minor changes in their lifestyle or doing a fast. The trees always make a sound even when nobody is there to hear it. It’s much better to be there to hear it.

The Art of Fasting

Filed under: Fasting — hygienehealth @ 5:16 pm

Most everyone has heard of fasting. Fasting is quite popular in many religions. Some believe that it purifies our body or our soul. Most people however do not know of the powerful health benefits of one of the simplest forms of treatment in the world. In modern society it is unheard of to accept an illness and just do nothing about it. At first sign of something being wrong we are taught to go directly to a doctor where we will get some type of treatment and it will all be gone in a short time.

This can be some pharmaceutical, a vitamin, herb, homeopathic medicine, or in some cases it might be a treatment like a blood transfusion or surgery. Unless you are close to death, are in such severe pain that you can’t survive with it much longer, or you are bleeding profusely, going to a doctor, naturopathic doctor, herbalist or the like is the exact opposite of what should be done. The right thing to do is to start a fast. The reason why we need to fast when we are ill is to allow our body to reverse the damage that we have done to it with our poor living decisions of the past.

The foods we chose to eat, liquids we chose to drink, the medicines and drugs which we chose to ingest, the amount of negative thoughts that we allowed ourselves to think, and many other things that we have done to ourselves are the cause of the illness. Our body is able to rid itself of most of these negative influences but it can not do so while we are busily going about our daily life. We need all our energy to work, think, move, and do the many demands that we put on our body every day.

There just is not enough energy in our body to do all that as well as heal the illness that we inflicted on ourself. The only way the body will be able to heal itself is by giving it the energy it needs. Many of you will think that giving our body energy is easy and all we need to do is eat high energy foods. That is simply not true because when we eat food we need to use nearly as much energy in digesting the food as we get back from it. What our body needs is to have nothing at all to digest.

If we stop eating for a period of 24, 48 or 72 hours our digestive tract will complete the digestion of the food that was already there and when no new food is introduced it will stop doing digestion completely (except for some minor metabolic functions). Unfortunately if we consume absolutely no food we will need to hydrate our body because the body will lose water even while we sleep.

Never fast without at least drinking water. Try to drink a glass (8 ounce) of water every hour while fasting. The water will hydrate your body but also it will help eliminate toxins as your kidneys require water to do their job. When fasting be sure not to do more than read a book in bed. Once you start to do any kind of mentally or physically demanding task you are taking energy away from your body that could be used for healing. If you can sleep all day and just wake up to drink the glass of water every hour or two that would be best.

Depending on your state of health prior to the fast, you might experience detoxification symptoms. These symptoms can include headaches, skin rashes, acne, diarrhea, cramps, fever, or just a general malaise. Do not be alarmed by these kinds of symptoms as they are expected as your body begins to heal itself.

The healing that your body goes through when fasting is very different from what the average person thinks that healing is like. If you are used to taking medications to ‘heal’ illnesses you will not experience the same effects. Medications work by delivering a oftentimes toxic chemical directly into your bloodstream which will change metabolic activity almost immediately.

This might change the symptoms of your illness rapidly but it will not heal the underlying problem. The cause of the illness is not even considered when taking medication, medication only covers the symptoms by stopping the body from healing itself. Healing through fasting will get to the underlying problem which is a buildup of toxins in the body. As the body realizes that it has energy and time it will start to heal all of the outstanding illnesses which are there due to toxins and improper healing in the past. Reading motivational literature and meditating are suggested activities to do while fasting. Do not try to do any physical exercises, they will delay healing.

Never try to fast by yourself for longer than 72 hours. If you believe that you need to fast for a longer period of  time look for a supervisor of fasts. There are many experts who supervise fasts and know exactly what to do and how to do it.

It is best to use one of these specialists because they know what to do if there are unexpected events. Some of these fasting coaches require that you stay in their home or fasting retreat, while others will supervise your fast via telephone. The choice depends on how much experience you have with fasting, your motivational and emotional state, and your general state of health. Your body will do amazing things to keep you in the best of health given the right opportunity.
